{"id":501,"date":"2021-01-28T01:51:45","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T22:51:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/?p=501"},"modified":"2023-10-15T23:39:52","modified_gmt":"2023-10-15T20:39:52","slug":"framework-collaboration-agreement-between-heron-lab-irasr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/?p=501","title":{"rendered":"Framework Collaboration Agreement between HERON LAB &#038; IRASR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>H<\/strong>igh fr<strong>E<\/strong>quencies, metamate<strong>R<\/strong>ials and n<strong>ON<\/strong>Linear Waves <strong>LAB<\/strong>oratory (HERON LAB, http:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/) of the Department of Physics of University of Thessaly and the <strong>I<\/strong>nstitute <strong>R<\/strong>adio <strong>A<\/strong>stronomy and <strong>S<\/strong>pace <strong>R<\/strong>esearch (IRASR, https: \/\/ irasr .aut.ac.nz \/) of the Auckland University of Technology (AUT), signed a framework collaboration agreement on the initiative of Dr. Giorgos Veldes, Assistant Professor and Director of HERON LAB, and Professor Sergei Gulyaev, Director of IRASR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"495\" height=\"502\" data-id=\"502\" src=\"https:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Twin_antennas_en.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Twin_antennas_en.jpg 495w, https:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Twin_antennas_en-296x300.jpg 296w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> HERON LAB is responsible for the creation of the first Hellenic Radio Telescope, called Thermopylae, by the conversion of a telecommunication antenna (very similar to the 30-metre antenna of the WRAO). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> IRASR is the first (and only) radio astronomical institute in New Zealand and it develops the Radio Astronomy and its astronomical and Earth Science applications in New Zealand as it sustains the AUT Warkworth Radio Astronomical Observatory (WRAO). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nagreement establishes the framework for collaboration between HERON LAB and\nIRASR in domains of mutual interest, including but not limited to research and\ndevelopment on technologies for Radio Astronomy and Space Geodesy and the\ndesign of astronomical receivers. \n\nMoreover, exchanges\nof academic and administrative staff, research staff, visiting scholars and\nstudents between the Parties shall be encouraged.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The High frEquencies, metamateRials and nONLinear Waves LABoratory (HERON LAB, http:\/\/heronlab.phys.uth.gr\/) of the Department of Physics of University of Thessaly and the Institute Radio Astronomy and Space Research (IRASR, https: &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":502,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>HERON LAB HERON LAB<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"The HERON LAB focuses on bas\u03b9c and technological research in the Microwave and High Frequency Communications, Metamaterials and Nonlinear Waves and the radio astronomy technology.
